A 6-year-old warmblood mare was presented at the Clinic of Giessen due to a suspected recurrent airway obstruction. However, the mare showed an increase in coughing despite low dust exposure and anti-inflammatory treatment with glucocorticoids. A bronchoscopy revealed a tumor in the right main bronchus. The radiological examination of the thorax revealed multiple, focal opacities over the entire lung field. Histological examination of the tumor revealed a Granular cell tumor. To the knowledge of the authors, this is the first report of a granular tumor cell emboli in the regional lymph nodes.
